This antique, circa 1940, Malayer rug has a shaded blue field with two vases below and two above issuing stylized floral arrangements which join in the centre, flanked by perching birds, flowerheads and floral stems, in broad ivory border of fox-brown and light blue angular palmette vine with a diamond shaped lozenge between, the light blue linked boteh vine outer stripe.
